We’re awkward people too!

Looking comfortable doesn't come naturally to us either!
You're probably pretty nervous about your photos because, although you want to capture it all, you're afraid you won't look relaxed or natural - we definitely get it and we're here to help!

Hi! We're Stephanie + Dave, an award-winning, husband-and-wife duo in Ottawa, Canada specializing in Wedding + Newborn Photography. And for us photography is a passion that is so much more than just pretty pictures.

We want you to have fun and enjoy the experience!

When we’re not hanging out at weddings or cuddling newborns in the studio, you can find us at home playing tug or chase with our pupper Kaylee and of course doting on our Little Charlotte. The four of us are likely working on the latest reno or craft project, or just chilling on the couch. We’re pretty big nerds who love video games, have an ever-growing board game collection, and multiple regular D&D games. 

We are pretty low-key people who would rather tour a museum or hike through the woods than hit up the clubs. We tell bad jokes (Dave loves a good pun), drop quotes from TV shows and movies like they're going out of style, and overall are pretty awkward (but in an adorable way). We believe that people are more important than money or things and that is a huge driving force in our business and creating amazing experiences for our couples + families.

Luxury is being able to focus on what's important to you

For us, luxury doesn't have to mean spending loads of money on every little thing, to us it is about being able to spend time doing the things we want to do, with the people we want to be with. Even if that means nestling under a million blankets, reading a great book as we cuddle with our babe + pup.

Despite being socially awkward, I can talk a lot ... some may even call it rambling! So with that in mind, I have listed out a few more fun facts about us below. But if that isn't quite your cup of tea (or hot chocolate for my fellow sweet-tooths), you can skip right to learning more about our collections.

A Few Fun Facts

We've Been Together for Over 19 Years!

We met way back in 2004 during our first year of university. Steph sent Dave a message on a now obsolete chatting/messaging system and the rest, as they say, is history!

We've Been Married for 10 Years!

We were married on September 29, 2012. It really was a gorgeous day spent with our family and friends as we celebrated the night away!! I am often reminded of the many happy memories I have of our wedding when we are shooting those of our couples!! (photo credit: Fifteen:Fifty-One Photography)

We have a Baby Girl!

It may have taken over 8 and a half years, but we finally welcomed our beautiful baby girl Charlotte in December 2022!! And yes, she has about a million newborn photos!

We're Also Engineers

We both graduated from Carleton's Engineering Programs. Dave is still in the industry, but Steph left it over 7 years ago.

We love to travel!!

We've walked the Giant's Causeway, toured INSIDE Stonehenge, lost a lens in the Isle of Skye, drank from a glacier peak, rode the train from Alaska to the NWT, seen the glittery lights of Las Vegas, walked through tulip fields in Holland, toured many regions of the US and of course have spent countless hours driving around our own beautiful country. Next on the list: Scandinavian Cruise!!

We Love the Arts

Of course we love Photography, but Dave is also a pianist (seen here playing the keyboard during our own wedding) and we love going to plays and shows whenever we can. We both have a soft spot for Musicals and Cirque du Soleil! (photo credit: Fifteen:Fifty-One Photography)

We have a puppy named Kaylee

We brought Kaylee home in the middle of the 2019 wedding season after falling in love with her during another photo session. She has seemingly endless energy and keeps us on our toes and we can't imagine our lives without her!

We're Pretty Nerdy!

We love video games, board games, D&D, and watching certified nerdy movies + shows! We were even lucky enough to get to Blizzcon a few years back!

We're Introverts

We prefer a night in (together or with friends + board games), or a stroll along one of our favourite trails over a busy nightlife adventure. We're awkward and weird and that's just how we like it!

Having Some Fun

Our main goal is for you to have fun, and if that means being silly between shots then that's exactly what you'll get!! :)

Puppies!!

Not only do I get to work with the cutest human babies, but we also do puppy sessions as well!

Dave has practiced long and hard over the years to make sure he can be extra helpful with all those groom accessories.

Gotta Test that Light

We have a set of these from so many of our weddings as Dave and I often use each other to test the light and our settings (especially right before a ceremony like shown here).

Run Dave Run!

I have been known to flip back and forth between veil toss photos. I say it's to find the best veil swoop, but I really just find it funny to watch Dave run back and forth, haha!!

Safety First

This tiny baby may look like she's on her own in that bucket, but I promise you there is a spotter just off shot here making sure the little one is nice and safe throughout this setup.
