Hi! We’re Stephanie and Dave, an award-winning, husband-and-wife dynamic duo, and for us photography is a passion that is more than just pretty pictures. But you've probably read that already, so how about a bit more about who we actually are.
We have been together for nearly 15 years and despite our travel bug, we are most content together wearing comfy clothes and just lounging around the house with our good, old friends: video games and Netflix. We are pretty low-key people who would rather tour a museum or hike through the woods than hit up the clubs. We tell bad jokes (Dave loves a good pun), drop quotes from TV shows and movies, and overall are pretty awkward (but in an adorable way). We believe that people are more important than money or things and that is a huge driving force in our business and creating amazing experiences for our couples.
The journey to where Stephanie Beach Photography is today has been a long one, but it all started with Stephanie's unquenchable desire and affinity for photography that began to infect Dave at the start of our relationship. In 2011 the hobby turned into a business, and then a few years later the business grew so large that Steph left her engineering career and ventured full-time into the world of self-employment in a creative field. So in short, the dream that sprouted when Steph was but a youngster, bloomed into the passion that is Stephanie Beach Photography.
... why weddings ...
That being said, when we first started I (Steph) never actually intended to shoot weddings. I am a huge introvert, and the interaction and people-skills required for weddings was something I didn't think I had. But after we did our first wedding, I not only found those skills, but I fell head-over-heels in love with the job (no pun intended)! There is just something so magical about capturing the start of a marriage. Being able to help our couples have a relaxed, comfortable day while still getting stunning images they can share and enjoy for years to come is something that is very special to me. It's cliche, but most days I can't believe this is my job!!
